Let’s Talk About NEP – What’s Going On with Mephedrone Right Now?

In recent months, there has been a growing number of reports from people who experienced unexpected and distressing effects after using substances sold as “3-MMC.” Many users describe severe anxiety, paranoia, insomnia, and other psychological and physical symptoms. At the same time, drug-checking results suggest that the expected substance is not always what is actually being sold.

What do we know so far?
  • What is NEP, and why is it showing up more frequently?
  • What do recent drug-checking results reveal?
  • Can NEP be distinguished from other substances?
  • What are the risks, warning signs, and potential harms?
  • What should be done in the event of an overdose or medical emergency?
  • How can we support people who are affected?
This workshop will provide an opportunity to learn about the latest findings, discuss current trends, and share experiences in an open and non-judgmental environment. Alongside information from research and harm reduction practice, participants are invited to contribute their own perspectives:
What have you experienced? How are you coping with the current situation? What questions, concerns, or observations would you like to share?
The event is open to people who use drugs, harm reduction workers, healthcare professionals, researchers, and anyone interested in understanding the current situation and its implications.
