Call for Proposals: Design and Implementation of a Peer-to-Peer Training Program for Club Staff (m/f/d)
The Club Commission has launched the "Mental Health in Clubs" project with the aim of, on the one hand, supporting clubs in strengthening the resilience and well-being of all staff and operators, and, on the other hand, offering preventive services—including workshops, training sessions, peer support groups, and counseling—tailored to the club culture starting in October 2024.
Based on the interventions tested with the pilot clubs, it has become clear that peer-to-peer support groups within clubs are a helpful tool for proactively protecting employees’ mental health and strengthening their overall resilience. In these groups, a facilitator creates a safe space and moderates the discussion, allowing people from the organization who share similar experiences or characteristics to exchange ideas and support one another.
For this reason, we are looking for instructors to train selected staff members from clubs and organizations to lead and facilitate internal peer-to-peer support groups on their own
Scope of Services:
The subject of this contract is the design and delivery of a peer-to-peer training program for club staff. The training sessions are intended for staff across all clubs, and the program should consist of in-person sessions lasting two or more days (between 8 and 16 hours). The training should include both in-person components and self-study. It may include in-person modules and digital discussion sessions.
The peer-to-peer training should cover the following topics:
- Conversation Facilitation and Group Moderation (Power Dynamics and Diversity-Sensitive Language)
- A solution- and resource-oriented approach
- Recognizing the early signs of mental illness
- Methods for Crisis Intervention in Groups
Your profile:
- a degree in psychology, social work, health sciences, public health, or a comparable qualification.
- Completed training or, during training, one of the following therapeutic approaches: family therapy, systemic family counseling, or group supervision according to the DGSv
- Experience leading self-help groups, group therapy, or family counseling.
- Experience as an instructor or teacher, ideally with examples from previous work
- Sensitivity toward diverse club staff, particularly marginalized groups
- Excellent command of German and English
- An appreciation of club culture and a nuanced understanding of it
- While not required, completion of a training program in nonviolent communication is also desirable
Time frame
The training program is scheduled to begin this fall and run through November 2024.
This requires interim consultations with the project management, and an interim report must be submitted.
The training program is expected to consist of in-person sessions lasting two or more days (between 8 and 16 hours).

A total budget of €1,500 (net) has been allocated for the completion of the project.
