Berlin Club Survey: Your Voice for Berlin's Club Culture
Surrounded by friends and many strangers, we spend nights and entire weekends together in clubs. Our desires, needs, and experiences are highly individual. The Berlin Club Survey aims to find out how important club culture is to you, how comfortable you feel when going out, and whether you have observed or personally experienced discrimination in clubs. By participating, you help protect club culture and support the club community in creating spaces that are as safe and diverse as possible.
The survey takes 10–20 minutes to complete and is completely anonymous. You can answer all questions to the best of your knowledge. We would like to thank you in advance for your support. If you have any questions, suggestions, or feedback, please feel free to contact us at: forschung@clubcommission.de.

FAQ:
Is the survey anonymous?
The survey is completely anonymous, and your responses cannot be traced back to you. The purpose of this survey is to gain an overview of experiences within Berlin’s club culture as a whole.
How long do I have to complete the survey?
Before you forget, we recommend that you complete the survey right now. However, you still have until the end of February.
When can we expect the results?
Once the survey is complete, we’ll need some time to review, analyze, and interpret the large volume of data. We hope to share our initial findings with you sometime this spring and plan to publish a detailed report and discuss the results in the fall of 2022.
What are your plans for the results?
We will share our results with you and the public. On the one hand, our goal is to explore the individual and societal significance of club culture (during the pandemic). On the other hand, we want to gain a better understanding of the situations in which and how frequently incidents of harassment and discrimination occur within Berlin’s club culture. The goal is to use facts and figures to help Berlin clubs create spaces that are as safe and diverse as possible.
How can I share the survey with my network?
We’re glad to hear it. We’ve made text and image materials available for you to download at the link below.
I haven’t personally experienced discrimination. Can I still participate in the study?
Absolutely! The survey is open to anyone who goes to or works at clubs in Berlin. We’d love to hear your thoughts on a variety of important topics, such as why you go to clubs, what matters to you when you go out, and what your vision is for club culture after the pandemic.
I have experienced discrimination and am looking for support. Where can I turn?
We advocate for an open and diverse club culture for everyone. With our Awareness Academy , we have created a program that enables people in the scene to learn more about and discuss topics related to awareness, diversity, and anti-discrimination in club culture. On the Awareness Academy website, you’ll find numerous counseling and resource centers. For example, the City of Berlin’s anti-discrimination app can be a first point of contact if you want to report cases of discrimination or receive support.
