Networking Event: Empowerment Initiatives for Berlin's Club Culture
Empowerment initiatives, such as DJ and funding workshops or community events, play a significant role in promoting respectful and non-discriminatory behavior in Berlin’s clubs and venues and in increasing the participation of underrepresented groups in club culture.
To mark this occasion, we invite all interested Berlin-based collectives and initiatives to join us at Hoppetosse on Thursday, August 24, 2023, starting at 6 p.m., to create a space for dialogue on the topic of empowerment. We would like to use this networking event to exchange ideas, pool resources, and jointly develop strategies that actively contribute to promoting a diverse and inclusive club culture. Following a brief introduction at the start, all participants will have ample time to introduce themselves and their work and to network with one another.

To further support the development of empowerment initiatives, the “Diversity-Inclusive Nightlife in Berlin” project will issue a call for proposals at the end of August for the design and implementation of an intersectional empowerment program focused on club culture, with a budget of 2,000 euros. We will provide you with detailed information about this at the network meeting.
Both individuals and groups are eligible to apply for this call for proposals. Applicants must demonstrate relevant experience in the field of empowerment, the development of their own strategies and initiatives, or participation in the implementation of an intersectional empowerment program in collaboration with other organizations.
The networking event on the topic of empowerment is being organized as part of a collaboration between the projects “Diversitygerechtes Ausgehen in Berlin” and “Club Culture Hub.” We look forward to a constructive discussion in a relaxed atmosphere with drinks and snacks!
