New project: Mental Health in Clubs
We are pleased to announce that the pilot phase of our Mental Health in Clubs project is starting today. In collaboration with Charité Berlin, the German Academy of Psychologists, FernUni Hagen, and Berlin's statutory health insurance providers, the project aims to strengthen employee resilience and promote structural changes in clubs. As part of this project, suitable measures will be tested in the pilot phase and then offered to all Berlin clubs. Psychosocial interventions will be developed for employees, and mindfulness-based workshops and training courses will also be offered.
Night work and irregular sleep patterns, difficulty separating work and private life, precarious employment conditions, and inappropriate and discriminatory situations when dealing with guests—according to the results of seven focus group discussions, these are just some of the challenges faced by club employees... People who work in clubs today are exposed to constant psychological pressure and stress, which can also have a negative impact on their everyday lives and lead to long-term consequences. As there are currently few services and solutions available to address these issues, Clubcommission Berlin is asking how the mental health of nightlife workers can be protected in the future and how the organizational resilience of clubs can be strengthened.
The Mental Health in Clubs project is being carried out in close collaboration with various partners from the fields of medicine and psychotherapy, whom we would like to introduce to you. All of our partners bring their own expertise to the project. They all share our goal of strengthening the individual resilience of employees and the organizational resilience of clubs.
This project is funded as part of the INQA experimental space projects of the BMAS and financed by the BGF coordination office.
