Training in Awareness and Bystander Intervention for Nightlife Professionals
The approximately seven-hour training session is designed for employees in Berlin’s nightlife industry and addresses the topics of sexual assaults in nightlife settings and their prevention through bystander intervention. Participants will learn to recognize such incidents and intervene confidently to prevent sexual violence and assaults.
Group work will focus on the topics of sexual violence in nightlife, bystander intervention, and intersectionality in nightlife, while also initiating and facilitating group dynamic processes that encourage reflection on the team’s own structures.
The goal is for participants to be able to confidently recognize and identify sexual assaults and intervene after the training, in order to make nightlife a safe place for everyone.
The target audience includes everyone involved in the nightlife and party scene. This includes all those working in the nightlife industry, as well as collectives and activist groups active in the nightlife scene.
The training is limited to 15–20 participants and will be held online in German on:
Monday, November 22, 2021, from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. (with a one-hour break).
