Part-time student position: Project Assistant for "Diversity-Friendly Nightlife in Berlin"

Founded in 2001, the Clubcommission is the central network and voice of
Berlin’s club culture. The Clubcommission works to ensure that the interests of Berlin’s
club culture are recognized by policymakers, government officials, and the business community. We provide
impetus, set processes in motion, and connect key players.

The “Diversity-Friendly Nightlife in Berlin – DAB” project is a collaborative initiative of
Eine Welt der Vielfalt e.V. and Clubcommission e.V., and is funded by
the Senate Department for Justice, Consumer Protection, and Anti-Discrimination and
the State Office for Equal Treatment – Against Discrimination. Through its
comprehensive offerings, DAB targets people who, due to their actual or
perceived group affiliations, are frequently subjected to discrimination in clubs and
discos, as well as club staff and operators.

As a working student, you will contribute to the ongoing project and assist the
project management team with organizing and documenting project activities.

Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Support in organizing the training program and other online
    as well as in-person events
  • Assistance with planning and organizing mailings and meetings
  • General office tasks such as filing, handling mail, and assisting with the preparation
    of requests for proposals and contracts
  • Assistance with creating topic-specific presentations and
    drafting project proposals, reports, and public relations materials
  • Copywriting in various formats for different target audiences in German and
    English

Job Description:

  • Master’s student or undergraduate student in social sciences, political science, or
    cultural studies; alternatively, currently enrolled in a program in journalism and
    communication studies, cultural management, or a comparable relevant
    field of study
  • Strong knowledge of diversity, anti-discrimination, and Berlin's
    club and event culture
  • Proficiency in German and English, both spoken and written
  • a very careful and meticulous approach to work
  • Proficiency in using common MS Office and internet applications
  • Organizational skills, friendliness, and tact
  • Knowledge and experience with office tasks

Your prospects:

  • Flexible hours: Within our regular business hours, you are responsible for managing your own time
  • Main Office: The office is located directly above the Kit-Kat and Sage Clubs at the Heinrich-Heine-Straße subway station

    in the Berlin Club Commission’s diverse projects and initiatives

The weekly work schedule is 20 hours. The monthly salary is based
on the TV-Stud collective bargaining agreement. The position is available immediately and is initially limited
to December 31, 2024
