DAB - Diversity-friendly going out in Berlin

Description

The Diversity-Friendly Nightlife in Berlin (DAB) project aims to promote respectful, discrimination-sensitive behavior at Berlin venues, reduce discrimination, and support groups affected by discrimination.

The project addresses the following objectives and measures:

  • Development of a training program on the topic of "Awareness & Diversity Competence in Club Culture" to qualify employees from different trades in clubs
  • Development of an exemplary complaint management system in cases of discrimination
  • Exemplary implementation of the concept at two pilot event locations in Berlin
  • Empowerment measures for groups affected by discrimination
  • Development of informational materials
  • Legal expertise on the topic of "Going out with an attributed disability"

The project is aimed at people who experience discrimination in clubs and discotheques due to their actual or attributed group affiliations, and at all those involved in the design of event venues.

The project "Diversity-friendly nightlife in Berlin – DAB" is a collaborative project between Eine Welt der Vielfalt e.V. and Clubcommission e.V. and is funded by the Senate Department for Justice, Consumer Protection, and Anti-Discrimination and the State Office for Equal Treatment – Against Discrimination.
