The Synergy Between Security and Awareness

The importance of awareness-raising efforts in the context of events has steadily increased in recent years. Awareness teams play a vital role for guests, a role that has often been underestimated in the security sector. Although the two fields (can) complement each other very well, conflicts of role and questions about each other’s expertise arise time and again, which have a negative impact on collaboration.

The workshop provides tools for fostering collaboration between security staff and awareness teams. Participants will reflect on their respective areas of responsibility, shift perspectives, and identify common ground and areas of disagreement. The workshop will also introduce and discuss awareness-building approaches for security staff, as well as strategies for resolving conflicts between the two teams. Together, participants will develop concrete workflows to ensure meaningful and productive collaboration in practice.
