In this workshop, we as racialized people will engage with the challenges we face in the club scene. Together, we will explore current discourses that directly or indirectly affect us, creating space for networking and mutual empowerment.

We will work with methods inspired by sociodrama, using playful approaches to explore and make our experiences visible within the context of societal structures.

What is it about?

What do you associate with the club scene: a space for expression, extravagance, work, art, community, or radical self-expression? Do you feel safe, heard, a n d represented within this environment? Is it your place, or is it a space for „others“? Do you see yourself as part of the whole, and are you recognized as such?

These questions are especially important for us as racialized people, who often face unique challenges within these spaces. It’s important to consider whether the club scene fosters an environment where people of diverse backgrounds feel welcomed and valued.

The club scene can serve as a powerful platform for self-discovery and expression, allowing racialized individuals toreclaim their narratives and find their

voices. Through collective efforts, we can create a space where everyone feels represented and empowered, ensuring that the club scene becomes a truly inclusive environment for all.

What we mean by racialized:

Black, Indigenous, and People of Colour, including people from south, tast, a n d Southeast Asia, SWANA (Southwest Asian a n d North African) communities, a n d

Roma. It also includes people who face discrimination based on religion,suchas Jewish and Muslim individuals, as well as those affected by imperialism, such as people from the Balkans or Eastern European countries.

About Me

My name is Noura (she/her, no pronouns). I am a freelance diversity manager and collaborate with various organizations. In my workshops, l use psychodramatic and sociodramatic methods to explore diversity in a conscious and playful way. As a sociologist with three years of theater experience, I am currently completing my training as a psychodrama practitioner at the Psychodrama Institute Berlin, with a focus on queerness.
